Explain Cheerleading to a Non-American
It seems a big deal in America and I don't get it. Organised cheerleading seems like the most pointless stupid thing ever, especially when it's devoted to equally stupid pointless high school/college sports. I kinda understand why it might make more people of a type come to games.
Do parents actually approve of something the explcitly sexualises their daughters? |

Re: Explain Cheerleading to a Non-American
Its not a big deal. I think it was more of a social status thing a while ago. These days (from what Ive seen) the average cheerleaders arent even hot.

Its just to give girls something to do since they can't play real sports.

Re: Explain Cheerleading to a Non-American
Not so much that as having practice sessions, cheerleading coaches, cheerleading captains, girls who always wanted to be dressed in a skimpy outfit waving pom-poms...
like wtf? |
