Default B&M 3/6 Playing against aggressive players 2

Saturday night B&M 3/6 Game. Earlier supper aggressive has finally busted out. A new supper aggressive young kid has joined the table. Probably just 21. I’m guessing this is the first time he played a live game in a casino, but he is a solid LAG and has been running over the table. An older man (father?) has come over and checked on him. Father is either playing a tournament or one of the spread limit games.

I’m in early MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

One limper, I raise, folded to super aggressive kid (SAK) who 3 bets, button cold calls 3, BB calls 2, I call.

Flop (5 players, 14 SB (after rake)) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Checked to me, I bet, SAK raises, folded to me, I 3 bet, SAK caps.

Turn (2 players, 11 BB) [K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet, SAK raises, I call

Ok, maybe he has KK or QQ, so I decided to call him down from here.

River (2 players, 15 BB) [K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check, SAK bets, I call

if SAK just sat down...how did you read him as super aggressive? or is this read after the fact?

if you have already seen this kid be super-aggressive, it seems odd that you bet the turn (although you are not punishing a flush or straight draw with 11 big bets in the pot already) and then do not bet (or check raise) the river. i guess SAK's raise on the turn scared you and so my question is this...

if SAK plays top pair with top kicker, two pair, and a set all with the same aggression, isn't he far more likely to be behind? for instance, given that Hero has KQ and KQ is flopped, SAK is much more likely to be behind with AA, AK, AQ, than to have KK or QQ. In fact he is 11 times more likely to have one of those other hands than KK or QQ.

I don't think he caps the flop with AT or JJ since he i just super aggressive, but not a maniac. So you are either in a chop chop situation, or 11:1 ahead. I say get every last dime in the pot you can, unless something he has done gives you a rational reason to put him on a set 50% of the time or more in that situation

Funny you should mention that, because he had JJ for the set on the turn.

I could not figure out how he could cap the flop with an underpair to the top two cards on the board. Perhaps this was some kind of free card play, which didn’t work because I bet into him on the turn anyway. The impression I got was he had a lot of experience in NL home games. He gave way too much action with some marginal hands, which you can do to drive draws out in NL, but it is much more difficult to do in limit. Unfortunately I was pretty card dead and this is the only hand I played with him all night.

Preflop: good

Flop: I'd go for the checkraise instead of leading.

Turn: I'm not quite ready to give up yet. Of course I'm not sure exactly how aggressive 'super aggressive' is. Against a normal player this would be fine.

He capped the flop and you still bet into him on the turn, and he proceeded to raise. I don't care who he is, at that point you've got to just call him down. NH.

I also like the bet on the flop, as to me super aggressive means "I'll raise you with squadush", which he basically did.

CR flop. Rest is a 'simple' read/math problem. At what point is his range so good that u can't value-raise anymore? I think the one u chosed i ok.

I've wondered about the spelling on "squadush" or is it "squadouche"?
