Yeh I've seent it before a few times. I don't know anything about it other than he bought it 2 years ago and it cost him an absolute [censored] at the time. To be honest I know next to nothing about tv's anyway. Its not one of those things thats like 2" think back to front but its not huge either.

He's the sort of guy that gets bored of things pretty easy like cars etc so when things get stale he just gets rid of them asap, hence the price.

Yea, every Plasma I have looked at is either 50 or 60 and then 60+. 52 sounds weird.

Definitely not a plasma, I would guess a DLP or LCD projection, but for being 2 yrs old... well I guess if he spent a ton 2 yrs ago it could still be a DLP/LCD projection as it was a fairly new technology 2 yrs ago. Now, I'd say you're getting it for about 1/3rd the price. Probably 1/2 of what it would be on craigslist. Still, a pretty good deal.
