Re: $22 huge spew?
You don't *need* to call it, but I don't hate it. I do it for fun sometimes with that kind of stack. And I OBJECT to small stacks doubling up off each other dammit.
Should also come in handy on the bubble if they know big stack is calling that loose. |

-EV but not terrible. Probably call with T8s.

Is it really worth spending so many chips on a long shot? Seems very -EV imo. Things would be very different with better odds though. |

Re: $22 huge spew?
I don't see the point. "For fun" shouldn't really be a reason. You are not getting sufficient pot odds vs any kind of reasonable range. I think it's spew.

-EV but not terrible. Probably call with T8s. [/ QUOTE ] Sometimes when you make a play because you are not sure you can later review the hand and find out you made a mistake/bad play. It happens. I think this is one of those hands you can just look at and you pretty much know calling is neg $EV and neg cEV, so if you know that then calling is terrible. I think calling T8s would be just bad. You need about 27% equity fro cEV = 0, and I think you are closer to 25% depending on ranges. But I just don't see the need to call a marginal situation. You have a huge stacka and the bubble is going to start next hand. Edit - sorry if that came off like i am a jerk, certainly not my intent. I'd be interested in any additinal analysis you can provide. |

Re: $22 huge spew?
Hey John,
We need about 30% equity to call this and that is just about what T8s has against typical ranges (30/20). We still have >28% equity against tight ranges (20/13). Even if we have just 25% equity (10/10) it still isn't that big of a mistake (0.4%). |

Re: $22 huge spew?
The fun is pwning them on the bubble 'cos they know I will call a push with T8o.
I really don't care about those chips - they'll probably do more good in this pot than sitting in my stack for the reasons stated above. If I lose I still have a big lead, and a table image which will come in well handy. E2A: knocking two players out also massively boosts your equity - it's not just the simple addition of another 1900 chips to your stack. |
