I opted for side A and shoved given pot odds and the fact that even if JJ is in there, that's just bad luck and if 97 is here for some reason, I have redraws. |

You're better than 50/50 to triple up. Why not happy about it?

It's an easy push but I seriously think the chances are very good you see Q9 for the made straight or A9s for OESD + NFD.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm pushing here always... |

Re: 25NL: I flop middle set and 2 ppl shove before it\'s my turn.
I don't think this is a fist pumping dance situation by any means. With two open shoves, you are likely facing an overpair and a flush/straight draw. Flush draw = 9 outs, straight = 6 more, overpair = 3 more, for 18 total outs that beat you with 2 cards to come.
If my range predictions are correct, you are only slightly better than a 2-1 DOG to win the pot. So, while calling (and praying you aren't up against JJ) is probably the correct move, don't get too excited because you don't expect to make too much $ in the long run. Of course, you could be playing against total donks who are open shoving with AJ or 2 pair. I usually play 1-2NL, and I wouldn't expect to see play that poor there, but at the .10-.25 level plays like that might be more common. -guinnessz |

Re: 25NL: I flop middle set and 2 ppl shove before it\'s my turn.
This is not a great spot. I saw the title, and was like, "Do a happy dance and get it in." But this is a 5-way limped pot. The other problem is that if one of these guys has the straight, the other likely holds a couple of your outs.
I get it in here, but don't feel that good about it. It might even be -EV. [ QUOTE ] Flush draw = 9 outs, straight = 6 more, overpair = 3 more, for 18 total outs that beat you with 2 cards to come. [/ QUOTE ] An overpair only has 2 outs, and you have reouts vs. the straight and flush. Against these two hands, you have more like 55% equity, which is great getting 2:1. I'm not sure how somone's showing up with an overpair here, though? That would be decidedly weird. Their range is basically 88, JJ, big heart draws, made straights, pair + a draw hands. It's not evenly weighted, though, as they're not shoving 100% of the time with all of these hands, so pokerstove won't really tell you your equity here. |
