Default 75 150 turn spot

75 game online that is currently 9 handed, and im not running very well. i have been playing relatively straightforward tagish, but have taken a couple tough beats.

This hand im in EMP and raise A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

folded to bb who has been playing slightly overagg/and is tilting a little imo, he three bets.

I cap.

Flop J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB c/c's.

Turn Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

BB checks.

How often should we be bet/calling a raise vs bet/folding vs checking behind and evaluating river.

I either instabet, or check then call any river unimproved. If I'm running bad as you are I tend to find myself doing the latter.

What exactly do you mean by instabet in this case?

the thing about these lagdonks is that they fastpaly everything. bet the turn, then bet the river no matter what it is. call down if raised IMO.

Since you arent value betting the river if he just calls and you fail to improve, you win about the same by checking behind and calling a river bluff for times when he has 10 high or worse. When he has K high or a worse ace high, you can likely value bet a blank river and expect to get called a ton if checked to. (i assume he bets any river if you check behind too)

If he has a better hand that isnt going to check/raise, you lose the same (or less than if he would call and then donkt he river). You arguably win less when you improve because you dont always get a river raise paid off, and you dont always want to raise.

If he has a hand that will check/raise, you're obviously a lot better off as you save two bets with with a hand that tends to be quite a bit ahead of you.

Maybe you should consider the menacing instacheck. This move throws even the best players off by checking quickly and with confidence...

Why would you do that? If he's hit the Q, he's CRing. If not, he's likely got a worse hand, and you want him to call.
