Re: Do you bother getting to know new people?
I have the opposite issue to OP. I like to meet new people and I have no problem doing it. I just don't like them after a few weeks and would like them to go away or at least greatly reduce their rotation in my life.
My initial response would be ignore them. I don't understand why people feel the need to be anything more then professional with co-workers. That is my view of it. But I've only ever had one job. I was a lawyer for a short period of time. At least in that environment I think it would have hurt me professionally to not be social friends with co-workers. So you need to consider how much you care about your job as well. |

Re: Do you bother getting to know new people?
Avoidant Personality Disorder/Schizoid Personality disorder.
If you want to have meaningful friendships/relationships but don't get involved for fear of criticism then Avoidant, however, if you are utterly 'meh' about people in general, then yeh, Schizoid bro. maybe not disorder, but personality style at the least, no biggie. Do you enjoy your new job? Maybe you don't want to get to know the people there, because your unsure about whether you think this job is what you really want to do in the long run. Dr. Phil out/ |
