Default Betting with draws in multiway pots

In limit hold'em you usually don't bet aggressively in a multiway pot with a draw, because when you don't succeed in making everyone fold, you will only have limited the amount of players who might have paid you off when you do hit your draw.

In No Limit Hold'em you aren't looking to make a few extra bets, but you are luring to your opponent's entire stack. Betting early on will create a larger pot, making it easier to stack someone. Any thoughts on betting in multiway pots with draws in No Limit Hold'em?

I generally do it

Don't know if it's smart or not I'm just guessing the times everyone folds + the fact that you are playing a larger pot when you do hit allowing larger value bets etc make it +ev

You bet a draw in NL for several reasons:

1) To take down the pot immediately. (My highest success rate is on non-Broadway boards.)
2) For deception. If everyone checks and the draw hits and you 'wake up', you probably aren't getting paid. Betting with a draw can allow you to make a nice 2/3 pot bet when the draw hits. Now your opponent has no idea whether you are milking him, bluffing or just trying to get a TP-like hand to showdown.
3) Win a big pot when the draw hits.

I think thats wrong. If you have for example the nutflushdraw + an overcard in an unraised 5way pot, chances are you have the best equity of all players and therefore you have to bet.

Agree with Noir--people jam up the flop all the time in limit with draws, for reasons 2 & 3 that 4_2_it describes.
