Mitch, you're in LS, right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, my last yr. Wish I had focused more on school and less on poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good god man, why? Poker>>>>>lawyer work.

[/ QUOTE ]

I couldnt agree more, but I feel kind of dumb having spent all this money and only dedicating about half my energy while the other half goes to poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

Please dont convince ppl who can be contributing to society to leach off it instead.

(secretly I just want less smart pros mwahahha)

[/ QUOTE ]

Heis, the other associates at my firm who are part of "Team Seth" have been badgering me to go full time poker for about 4 months now. Logic will not dissuade them.

Also, now would be a good time to take all but your most minimal BR out of AP - I really don't think this ends well for them...

[/ QUOTE ]

you really think they are going to go under or something? i mean I can understand how this will be bad for short term business, but it isn't like they are just going to up and steal people's money. They have too much money to make in the long term, and as the ineffectiveness of the UIGEA has shown people are going to keep playing poker whereever they can. Since AP/UB are two of the bigger sites still allowing US players (and maybe the easiest to deposit on) I seriously doubt they are going to just shutdown and eat your roll.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm just saying, I wouldn't want to be the one holding the bag at the end...not saying cashout, just keep as little as possible on there would be my advice.

He has like 9 outs for the flush and 12 outs for all the straight draws he can make on the turn. You only have 4 outs on the flop. That's a standard equity raise for him. 74 also makes more straights so is a better starting hand. This is expert play and I suggest you move tables.

[/ QUOTE ]

to be honest i think he actually played it fine. he has both backdoor draws locked up on the flop, plus the bottom pair and 3rd pair outs may come in handy. y'know the motto: 10% equity is better than no equity. i just can't believe people actually are this advanced already at 10/20 (i thought only 50/100+ players were capable of villain's play here).

[/ QUOTE ]

Preflop is close. And unless button and SB are tight I wouldnt play it

Flop is spew unless there us some crazy dynamic going on between you two in which he can expect you to fold quite often when he 3-bets.

This is also spew at 100/200!

[/ QUOTE ]

abso and i were leveling.

if you're leveling also, well done

Oh man i forgot!

Yesterday I set a personal record by calling the river 4 times with jack on an AKxyz board knowing full well this man had no pair no draw.

I lost all 4 times to queen hi.

Four times I did this in one day.

I just finished tanenbaums/borer and maks shorthanded book.

Really short review:
Incredible book for people moving from full ring to shorthanded limit... Very useful for people who dont frequent these forums.

For people grinding the mid limits, probabily wont get much out of it, but is a good refresh of a lot of the knowledge you have.. May help to identify a leak in your thinking.

I dont agree with everything they wrote, but most of its very solid advice.
Excellent book, but most of you are not their target audience. If your confident in your SH limit game, you can probabily afford to not read it.
