Default Monitor refresh rate help

I just bought and hooked up an Envision 19" wide-screen LCD and am happy with it so far, but I'm having trouble adjusting the refresh rate.

The model number of the monitor is G19LWk, and it SHOULD be capable of a maximum 75hertz refresh rate. However, under the recommended (and maximum) resolution of 1440x900, there appears to be only one choice for refresh rate, and that is 61hertz. When I change the resolution to 1280x1040, it DOES allow me to adjust the refresh rate from 60/70/75hertz.

I have noticed a kind of "wavy" flashing when the monitor is at 61hertz and would very much like to get 70 or 75hertz at the monitor's native resolution of 1440x900. Anyone familiar with how I should proceed to get this? Thanks for your help.

Did you try unchecking "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" in the monitor settings window (I'm assuming windows here)?

LCD's need to be set at the lowest refresh rate. They don't flicker like CRT's. Leave it at 60ish
