Default what kind of ISP connection do you guys have?

I've moved up in stakes now where saving one hand per month could be worth the cost of an additional ISP. I know HSNL players have more than 1 ISP, i was wondering if anybody in the FRNL has more than 1 ISP as well?

what do you guys typically use? Is there anything that is VERY stable? Aside from the T1 lines.

How does DSL/Satellite/ETC. compare to cable?

thanks

I have DSL in an apartment complex and it's pretty unstable for me. Some days I'm disconnected several times in a session. For HSNL, I definitely would not be using this type of connection.

Cable

Location: Buffalo, NY

EXTREMELY unstable at my current residence. Had it at my previous residence with little-no problems. This was of course before Adelphia switched to Time Warner AND I was on my own router at the old place, as opposed to Time Warner's router here.

I have cable and I briefly(45 seconds or so) lose connection about every other day. Not a big deal 90% of the time, but a huge problem the other 10%!

I have Dsl, Satelite, and neighbors wirelesses who have cable. The Dsl is the best of all its the business strength 3mphs version rather than the 700k kind(only double price of regular dsl). And anyone who plays 100nl or higher should have more than once connection. that 1 hand a month where you are dealt AA or flop a set and get disconnected is worth the xtra connection.

I get disconnected quite often, but this has never happened to me. I would def recommend a very good connection, but I don't think 1+ is necessary IMO because even if you get d/c and can't reconnect twice a month, it usually doesn't cost you any money

i just got disc'd and in my rush only called a river bet with my FH.

at the same time i had to limp AA on the button 8 ways because i was too rushed through my tables.

i can't imagine it not being worthwhile.

DSL, biz class. Very few (less than 3 for sure) disconnects per month.

Considering T1 in new house...

I have had DSL for the entire time I have been playing poker in 2 different countries. Very stable for me with no issues. I have friends that have issues with frequent disconnects on their cable.

I have Time Warner (formerly Adelphia).
just a basic cable modem and plan

and my connection is super solid...

I think I've only disconnected like once in 2+ years...
and that was because of an actual physical problem with a line being cut by a construction crew somewhere...

(knock on wood VERY LOUDLY)
