Default Re: $200/400 facing river C/R getting really good odds

I feel very awkward posting about a hand played at this high of stakes when I play so much lower relative to them but here's what I think..

Isn't it hard for the villain to have a big hand here on the turn? I think the only way he checks the turn is if he feels that Hero has an overpair or TPTK and he has that beat and is going for CR.

Also if Villain does have Q-10o like many are suggesting wouldn't he bet here? Giving a free card in this situation would be akin to disaster if he feels that Hero has AK or AJ and missed after a continuation bet on the flop. Also Villain also has to know that after Hero checks the turn he most likely does not have a big hand like a set or overpair or otherwise because he would want to protect/get value with it with a big bet.

The river is a little different because if Villain knows that Hero missed with an A high hand on the turn then betting the river is pointless unless: 1. You have a pair of Aces beat and think you will get a call from it when you have two pair or 2. Villain knows that Hero has to think that just a pair isn't good here and will lay it down when in reality AK is good. It's a tough spot either way.

i agree w/ MDMA i prob fold AK but call w/ AT.. not quickly but my range w/ AT is too good to fold there most of the time esp. w/ his flop peel

Bill,

I think we've noticed a pattern developing in your posts. You either say exactly what a respected poster already said, or you say something wrong.

It's gotta be a fold because he can never expect you to fold for this price and there isn't a hand worse than yours that he's value shoving on the river here.

AK is a fold and it's alot close with AT, but with the pot odds offer I would snap call AT even if I'm not happy about it ....

smells like AQ alot

I really don't understand this at all - but i've seen other people say this before. Is it b/c you don't want to say to villain "feel free you can run me over." I mean, even if they did think that, you can then use that against them.

I always ask in this situation why did villian call the flop and check the turn. Given the position, was Villian intending on C/R the turn? I think when I spike the A on the end, I'm happy to check along and see if I won. But the bet isn't bad either. I'm folding.
