rivered 2 pair, value bet gets raised
Villain is a bad player, active preflop but passive postflop (50/15/0.7)
I find myself having trouble with assessing what actions from bad players mean. They just randomly do... things. Sometimes they minraise with air, and sometimes with second pair. Sometimes they check on the river with the stone cold nuts. Here is another example where his line does not make sense. My guess is he just called on the flop with 2 cards, and that he either runner-runnered a straight or flush, or he has air. But then again, he can have anything... I just can't read those guys. Is this a fold or a call? I'm still lost about this one. I tried to stove some ranges, but my problem is how to assign a range to this type of player. Any thoughts are appreciated. |

Re: rivered 2 pair, value bet gets raised
I call.
It's possible he flopped middle pair and then got a flush draw on the turn, but that and a set are the only things I'm worried about. |

3 calls and 1 fold... hmm.. maybe I should have called.
I folded by the way, so we'll never know what he had. |

Re: rivered 2 pair, value bet gets raised
I would have raised preflop and/or bet the turn. As played, it kinda looks like he backed into something. Problem is that something could be worse two-pair, flush or straight. If your stats are over any normal sample, I think folding the river is good.

Sick spot, I like c/c the river. In these spots especially after checking the turn, often you will get the random bluff bet at you, but I don't have PT to help me.
Betting the turn would be a whole lot better. |

Re: rivered 2 pair, value bet gets raised
i really like c/c the river, it also gives us valuable info on how villan plays, which can be used later against him-- i feel like these smaller pots give info up that is much more valuable than the pot itself, b/c usually donks like this stick around until they lose everything-- its hard to put him on any ranges because that play is just really peculiar-- maybe got his bd flush? who knows
