Default Defensive betting in PLO8

I find myself in situations (against 1 or 2 opponents) where I have nut low or weak high and I'm afraid of checking and getting against a pot sized bet so I bet a little less than half the pot hoping no one re-raise me.

Anyone do this??

I do this quite often. I think the correct term is blocking bet, as described by Harrington in his HOH series.

Actually itīs not in the HOH series, it is described in
NLH T&P

I just saw Mendacious try this and when it got potted back at him he was forced to fold. The pot was heads up. I think there is a deeper level of thinking that goes into this type of bet that revolves around your image and the other player's capabilities. Trying it at a table you've only been at for a short time isn't such a great idea, me thinks.

But I play 25's. I don't know sht.

its also good on the river when u have nut high, no low possible. If you pot, they fold [censored] straights, but if you bet 1/2 or 1/3rd pot, they often pay off
