Default Borgata 20/40 report from Saturday June 9th

Got cold called when I made it three bets preflop with AK of spades. Cold caller had 9-3 of diamonds. Of course I lost when he hit a three on the turn when there was one diamond on the flop.

Then I witnessed an under the gun raise with a K-5 offsuit by a different player twenty minutes later after the cold caller got busted out. The K-5 raiser happened to have been assigned the seat of the busted cold caller.

The stakes here are 20/40, right? Reminds me of the old days when Party Poker was accessible to US players.

I left when a player discovered that there were two four of clubs in the deck. That's right, two (2) four of clubs (4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]). Two of them. Must have been the cold caller and K-5 raiser stacking the deck.

At that point in history, I picked up my six racks of redbirds and walked away with 58 BB for three and half hours of work. I didn't want to wait for the casino control commission to do body searches. Am I ever really going to be able to cash those hundred dollar bills they give out at the cage of the Borgata?

How long did it take for the game to resume if you happened to witness this?

I've never had a duplicated deck there, but have seen marked cards.

What happened then was the floor pulled the questionable deck (left it in the tray), dealer kept the game going with one deck and hand shuffling.

Total time missed was less than it takes for one fill.

same thing for me, extra king found in the deck at the Borg. Change was fast and efficient, if they checked the tape they didn't make the players aware of it (which IMHO is the correct thing to do).

Yeah, but how the hell does this happen? As I recall when a game is started at the Borgata, or any place else for that matter, the dealer and the floor check the deck for completeness in front of the players.

I think you are vastly overestimating the amount of effort the dealers put into making sure the deck is actually right. When I read the OP I assumed you were joking about the deck being rigged, but apparently you were being serious.

I don't know if the deck was intentionally rigged, but I believe the extra 4 of clubs incident did happen on Saturday - I heard someone talking about it at a 10/20 table.

it's the responsibility of the dealer to count the deck periodically, so i don't think the 4 was in there too long.

Only 6 racks?? I think it is criminal I have only ever been able to play this game on weekdays Much tighter as most people need suited connectors to cold call

If Borgata uses Shuffle Masters, which I'm sure they do then the deck is counted each time it goes in. The most likely situation is that there was no 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and an extra 4.

This is likely correct.

The Borgata does use Shuffle Masters, but they go down on a fairly regular basis. Last weekend the unit at our table went out, and the floor informed us that there were no extra units available at the time.
