Default $1-2 Live NLHE -tricky river on scary board.

Villain in this hand is pretty tricky/aggressive, but
not crazy. Loose preflop, selectively loose post flop.
Villain raises in early position to $7 (and has about $150
behind). I call on button with 6d 8d (with about 190 behind).
Loose/bad SB calls. Flop comes down Ad Th 5d. SB checks, raiser checks, then as I ponder betting my draw, he says, "uh oh, hes thinking about it." After a few moments, I check as well. Turn is Kd. He leads for $20. Raise, call? I can see merits for both.

Assume you call and SB folds. River is Ts. Raiser checks. We bet $30, he raises $40 more. What is our action? What do we put him on?

I bet the flop.

I raise the turn.

As played, I call the river. He has AA/AT a lot, but what the hell. It's cheap.

I can see betting the flop, but this villain seemed to go for c/r with top pairs a good % of the time.

Is there more value in raising the turn in the long run, or smoothcalling and getting value from two pair/set type hands that will pay off a river bet, and getting value from hands like AxKd that may stab at the river. Im not too concerned long run with the board pairing, as I can probably manage to not lose a ton of money over the long run if that happens.
