sunday million stake %
sorry if this is the wrong forum but My roomate wants to buy a piece of my sunday million action today cus hes not gonna be around to play himself. He wants 40% of profit but we are having a hard time agreeing on how much he would need to throw down to get 40%. Can anyone thats well versed in staking arrangments help me out here?

Re: sunday million stake %
for 1 tournament, throwing down 100% should get the backer anywhere from 70 to 75 % assuming backee is a winning player.
thats not too helpful, but i know for bigger events players will sell percentages based on a markup, anywhere from 20 to 30%. so, for sunday mil, assume 10% action is worth $21.5*1.25 that'd be 10% so for 40% multiply by four, obv |

[/ QUOTE ] I won't discuss should or shouldn't as to the amount, as that is open to free market interpretation. However, I don't think any backer can reasonably expect to be making a profit if they're backing even great players, 1 tournament at a time, and giving the player 25-30% of the profit. Re: sunday million stake %
If you mean 'reasonably expect' to mean that they win money more often than they lose money, then yea, OBVIOUSLY no split can leave the backer 'reasonably expecting' a profit. But why would you say that even a great palyer couldnt make it a +EV investment w/ 75/25 split? the player doesnt need an absurd ROI for this to happen..
that said, i think lotss of backers give too good of deals. |

Re: sunday million stake %
if any of my roomates want a piece of my action i always just sell it to them at cost, 10% of a 215 = 21.50, maybe i'm too nice. i also probably wouldn't let them buy as much as 40% in the sunday million though.
negotiating a few dollars with friends isn't fun. |
