Default Tips on a Few Casino Table Games?

Hey,

I am going to miz things up and play a few games that I dont normally play this weekend at turning stone.

I know the rules and how to play but I was hoping to get some tips (besides "dont play, they're -EV games")

So, what is the basic rule(s) of thumb for Carribean Stud?

And, same question for 3-Card Poker?

Thanks all,

JW

PS I am not looking for full odds charts etc.... I am just looking for, like I said, a few rules of thumb and tips etc....

Thanks all!!!

If you can find a weak dealer that allows you to front load you only need to see one of the casino's cards for this it be +EV.

Tips other than don't play them because they are stupid games?

Carib-Stud: Find a table with a reasonably high jackpot assuming you are going to be putting the $1 in for the jackpot thingee. $200k+ is usually a decent-sized jackpot. Enjoy losing your money.

3CP: QT2 is the lowest hand you should stay with I believe.

Be sure to ask for comps.
I'm not sure how many poker-only players are aware of how many comps some places will throw at you for playing these -EV games.

Get a players-card and always check-in on these tables.

After just 1 session each at 2 casinos of 3CP in Tunica I'm now getting all sorts of stuff in the mail for 2 free-nights in the hotel, etc.

99% of the dealers in Vegas are too well trained nowadays. I think Basic strategy is to match your bet w/ Q,6 or better.

Games like Carib Stud, LIR, PaiGow, may have higher House advantages than games like Baccarat or Blackjack but you will actually lose less money over a period of time.

This happens because you play more hands in blackjack and baccarat because of the speed of the hands. While games Like Carib and LIR take forever to deal etc.

Never bet more in LIR than you have to to reach the max payout on a royal because your screwing yourself.

Bet banker in baccarat, pass/don't pass & come/don't come in craps. Also, learn and play basic blackjack strategy, you can fit it on an index card. These only have (relatively) marginal house edges. Stay away from prop bets, etc.

The carnival games you're talking about are terrible EV - Let it Ride, 3 & 4 Card Poker, Hold 'Em Bonus, Carribean Stud, Spanish 21, etc.

Free drinks.

Years ago you used to be able to get a glimpse of the dealer's bottom card. Dealers aren't as sloppy now. Knowing that card changes how you should play your hand. If it's a K, for example you wouldn't play anything that's worse than K,9,2.
