Zeebo Theorem Hand
For those of you who don't know, the Zeebo Theorem (ala CaptZeebo from HSNL) is that no one ever folds a full house when a board has trips showing.

Mine are in white. Preflop: I limp, which I don't like to do, but I don't like raising because that will often lead me to playing a big pot oop with a vulnerable hand. I also don't like folding, because 99 has some value to it. I might limp 88 here too, but 77 is probably getting mucked. Flop: Apart from hitting my set, this is one of the best flops I could've hoped for. I bet thinking I will take the pot down. Plan is to fold if anyone raises me, instaprestomucking if SB or BB checkraises. Turn: Well, he has something, or thinks I'm completely full of it. He will bet if he was floating the flop, but probably not if he has a small piece of it, as he'll want to see a cheap showdown. He could have just smooth called on the flop with a 2, but I don't see him limping anything but A2 at this point, and A2 would very likely raise the flop. River: I apply the Zeebo Thm. I feel he likes the board a bit. Either has a smaller pocket pair than mine, or made a pair on the board. He will likely call, but not raise a regular size bet. Since he won't raise, if I want his stack I have to overbet push, which looks like a bluff, which is why the theorem probably works. I pooooosh. |

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
So how does this fact make it Zeebo's Theorem and is there a point?

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
Normally I would have bet around t300 on the river and puked to a raise rather than push. Also, I was hoping for comments on my line.

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
FR,
It's Zeebo's Theorem in action because he thinks that 55-88 will call. Velocity, I think Zeebo's theorem would be more applicable if you had, say AA or something full of 2s as opposed to 2s full of someothing. But overall, I don't mind the push. Also, what buy-in is this? If it's low enough I could even see something like a flush or straight calling. |

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
its reasonable to play as you did on the river although I despise checking the turn.....cmon you have 99 and he could have easily called with two overcards on the flop and will also pay you off with worse hands than yours.

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
Oh and regarding the hand, what the [censored] are you doing on the turn? You probably have the best hand, but it's not like its bulletproof. Diamond draw with overs on the flop? River is fine.

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
That is totally BBV material, but I'm okay with it because its quasi-related and totally sweet. like...totally.

Re: Zeebo Theorem Hand
This seems like more of a flush draw by your opponent.
What about just a pot sized bet on the river? I think the nut flush may call here. He ain't gonna call 1800 though. |
