I want to play 1-2NL and not go bust. What kind of starting bankroll do I need. I was thinking 2500. What you think?

If you are a good player I dont think you need anymore than 20 buy ins to be safe. The players are so bad that you shouldn't be able to lose that much if you tried.

If you are a losing player, no bankroll is adequate--you will go broke. If you are break-even player, you will eventually go broke from variance. If you are a steady grinder with a steady win rate and low variance, you can get by with a modest bankroll. If you're an action junkie, but still a winning player, the large variance will require a larger bankroll. As well, your tolerance for going broke has to be factored in; if you're ok with a 20% chance of going broke, your bankroll can be far smaller than if you demand a <1% chance of ruin.

"Risk of ruin" is the magic buzzword. Let google be your guide.

i can take $500-1000 and play YEARS in $1-5 stud and never go broke and still win an average of $25-40 a day. thats why i loved it so much in AC Nj all the time i was homeless before. its also why im so pissed the game disappered in vegas except for the place im 86ed from since i couldnt afford to ever tip. other games take too big a bankroll.

You can mooch 5 ounces of lentils, rice, etc from me per day after you go busto.

How much are you thinking of investing in this venture? How do you get to live rent free? Do you live in your car?

Seven card, I like your style...if everybody stopped tipping at the same time, they would have to take money out of that drop box and give it to the dealers.
