Tek can't buy a break.

[/ QUOTE ]

If by "can't buy a break" you mean "can't stop swinging at pitches that are almost over his head", then I agree.

And I think the thing that frustrates me the most about Tek's ABs is that he is a catcher and should be smarter and have some idea about how they are going to try to get him out. Yesterday against Wang they laid off like 16 pitches in a row as Wang walked the bases loaded. So what does he do? Come up hacking at the first pitch, of course. The 2 pitches he swung at in the AB were both clearly balls.

I mean there's a reason he's hitting .255. And Tito hits him way too high in the lineup, too. Unless they're facing a lefty, he should be hitting last. Well, maybe not that low, but never ever 5th or 6th vs a righty.

Francona gets the lefty up in the pen and...lets Schill face Giambi LDO

[/ QUOTE ]

I think if this were a playoff game, Tito might've given his old pal Schill the hook in that spot.

Who am I kidding?

BTW, before Jeter even swung, I was already thinking, "That's the worst pitch I've seen a Red Sox pitcher make this season." I was just hoping that it was so bad that it fooled Jeter. A frivolous notion.

Come on, there have gotta be a few 75 mph Wakefield fastballs that were worse.

there is this bug in MLB 04 where, in dynasty mode, wakefield's fastball turns up to 90MPH in the offseason. dude is totally unhittable after that. sexy.

sorry for the invasion, just had to share:

Sox have 90 wins, and 12 games remaining.
Yanks have 85 wins, and 13 games remaining.

If Sox struggle and go 6-6 the rest of the way, Yanks need to win 11 of 13 to tie.

Got to be objective. Yankees are a better team right now. Will that change when we get Manny back? I don't think so, I think they will still have the edge. We might have to back door this one and hope Anaheim takes them out for us in the playoffs.

lol i wasn't saying anything about the division - i don't feel great about the yankees' chances to win it after not sweeping this weekend. it was a picture related to one swing of the bat during one game

anyway, good luck the rest of the way and hopefully we see you guys in the ALCS
