Re: vehn
If this is worth value betting it would follow that we should have 3 bet the turn I think. Or is the fact that he now checks on a complete blank enough new information to make a turn non-3 bet but now river value bet correct?
Personally I would be 3 betting the turn here against a lot of my friends but its a weird line he took for sure. Also I hate free showdown raises but this is a good board for the turn 3 bet and take a free showdown unimproved line because of the hearts though he could muster a crying call with a lot I guess. Sort of interesting hand I think but it depends a lot on what you two do against each other so everything besides that is all just a decent TAG on TAG exercise. -DeathDonkey |

Re: vehn
Check to see what he played this way. After he crs the turn he will never pay off river w/ a worse hand if you have the cojones to vb. He is probably going for el doble cheque y gasolina.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah whenever I take Vehn's line I'm either giving up on some bluff and folding, or I'm check/raising again with a better hand. So I like a check for PokerBob also. |

Re: vehn
Ive seen this line being taken on boards with weak made hands to fold out better weak made hands, then induce bluffs on the river from draws still left in your range and get WTF checks from good hands. Its not an awful strategy. If my opponent can do this move profitably because of the nature of the board and the action up to this point, I would value bet a good pair to leave myself unexploitable.
Unfortunatly, in this situation , because of the high/connected nature of the board and your pf3bet, once you bet the turn, your range is pretty strong and if you are weak enough to want to fold to a line this strong, you likely would want to do it on the river.. You'll almost always be calling the turn since most hands have gutshots And/or heart draw. Therefore the c/r, check line serves no purpose as a bluff or a bluff catcher. He should know this, so I think its pretty unlikely he has a worse made hand and is checking to induce a bluff. Thus I check it... If you want to bet, you have plenty of better hands to bet in this spot.. bet 2pair or the very worst hands in your range. This is the perfect hand in your range to check. |

Re: vehn
If we 3bet and Vehn 4bet the turn I would think this is a pretty trivial fold.
