Default ($27) TPTK on a monotone board

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t1500)
UTG+1 (t1500)
MP1 (t1500)
MP2 (t1500)
Hero (t1500)
CO (t1500)
Button (t1500)
SB (t1500)
BB (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is in MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG calls t20, <font color="gray">UTG+1 folds</font>, <font color="gray">MP1 folds</font>, <font color="gray">MP2 folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to t100</font>, <font color="gray">CO folds</font>, <font color="gray">Button folds</font>, <font color="gray">SB folds</font>, BB calls t80, UTG calls t80

Flop: (t310) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, <font color="red">Hero bets t250</font>, BB calls t250, <font color="gray">UTG folds</font>

Turn: (t810) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets t1150 (All-in)</font>

Rationale is that the call probably indicates a big spade, so want to give it the poorest odds possible.

So how bad is it?

Not a fan. You're giving yourself no way out if he does have it. I'd put in a healthy bet but I'm just not a fan of getting all my chips in here when 2 spades is very realistic.

What do you suggest, leaving yourself with 400 chips? I don't think you need to always go broke with TPTK but I'm willing to against a flopped flush. There are many other more likely holdings for villian, including OP's suspicion of a flush draw.

I think his flop bet is exactly the right size. The equivalent bet here is ~625. Once I bet over half my stack, I'm pushing. One spade is more likely than two here, and he may just have a worse queen. I like the push.

I think it's okay. I raise a little less preflop to keep the pot small though.
