Well, UCSD's classes are cancelled, which is a plus, but I'm really worried about my family right now.

TV news said an evac was issued for west Alpine and Harbison Canyon. I live in what I would consider to be north Alpine but with my worried parents calling constantly we decided to leave Alpine to go my sister's house in Santee.

Melch, any news on whether your area will be issued an evacuation order and what your plans will now that the 15 is closed?

I'm going to get some hotdogs and some sticks and have a good old fashion cookout. Actually my plan if I need to evacuate is to go to Vista. if that is not an option, I am not sure.

Guys, feel free to come hang out in Irvine: our brush fires are much better behaved than those of our southern neighbors.

I live right by Fashion Valley Mall. I don't have a lot of space, but if you need a place to go, let me know.

My parents live in Irvine, the 1993 fires sucked, but at least we weren't in any real danger where we lived. (Our friends on the other hand...)

I thought about heading up there, but I'll probably just wind up trying to volunteer at the high school.
