Who really makes $$ anymore?

The vast, vast majority of poker players lose money. You just happen to post on a site where a lot of the winners post. Undoubtedly people lie, but check out the monthly graph thread. Clearly a lot of us are making money. I'm making more money than I ever have, but I work hard on my game. For every hour I play I spend at least an hour studying.

If you want to be a winner, be prepared to dedicate a lot of time. If you do and have the required intellect with mental and emotional control you have a chance of becoming a long term winner.

Not to be mean, but your post indicates that you have a great deal of work ahead of you if you want to become a winner.

This statement is udderly ridiculous. I know tons of very smart people who couldnt make 10K a month at poker. Poker is like anything else, it takes a certain skillset, yes a big part of that skillset is intelligence, but its a certain type of intelligence. There are plenty of people I would call "not all that smart" who make alot of money at poker, and plenty of very smart people who can't.

to get good fast i think you need a predisposition to logical thinking, good friends who are already big winners, and motivation. also it's a really small % of this site that makes that much money.
