Omaha wikipedia article needs your help
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pot_Limit_Omaha
If we could get a few people here to make a little hobby out of improving this article, it could perhaps marginally help the popularity of the game. If you have ideas on how to improve it but are too lazy to go there and edit the page yourself, post them here and I or someone else might get around to it. I'd say the first goal should be to have enough content on Pot Limit Omaha specifically for it to break off on its own. |

Re: Omaha wikipedia article needs your help
LOL I don't know that this will make the slightest difference in making PLO popular. I didn't get interested in PLO from Wikipedia hehehe. But good idea to update the site it is rather blah.
I think the only way to make PLO popular is get pros on TV playing it regularly. I got interested in PLO after seeing so many of the pros playing it on FullTilt. The article currently is such an attack of hand combinations that you wouldn't even attempt to read it if you only had a passing interest, so I think it needs pictures. If someone looks up omaha and sees a picture of a pro player there they like, it may make them interested enough to read, but then this is how i think. Also a picture of the starting hands would be nice and a good visual aide for noobs. I read this off a site talking about omaha and I think it is enticing... you may want to edit it as it is plagerism lol : Sorry Janelle. No question about it being plagiarism. - Buzz |

Re: Omaha wikipedia article needs your help
some interesting ideas there - the one thing about the Wiki page that struck me was there was no mention of the big game on FT, or the fact that its the game of choice for most of the best players in the world. i think a few paragraphs with maybe a screensot of Ivey, Hanson, etc in the big game would be quite useful in that respect

[ QUOTE ]
i strongly think it would be -EV [/ QUOTE ] i don't think you need to post really good strategy in the article. It should just be an appealing and informative introduction to the game for people who google it. |

Re: Omaha wikipedia article needs your help
redirect "Omaha" to the PLO page, instead of some hick town in Nebraska.

Re: Omaha wikipedia article needs your help
Pete here is the link http://www.onlineshark.com/omaha101.asp
opps on posting it directly ! I think the first paragraph which highlights how it is very profitable would attract players! I agree with Elrazor, as usual, on the pictures of FTP players at the table with LOTS of cash playing PLO. Brandon Adams playing Omaha will definately get girls interested in Omaha... worked for me!( in case you don't know who he is -- see my avatar lol ) RoundTower ---- very funny! But redirecting all searches of the city of Omaha ought to be as much -EV as updating the PLo page. WHO is looking up Omaha? Anyone go to Omaha Nebraska lately? i strongly think it would be -EV [/ QUOTE ] How could you possibly think that drawing new players to PLO would be -EV? Even if you were able to sit them down and tell them everything you know (which this page obviously won't)...do you really think they could sit down and lessen your winnings at the table? Alavet, if you like PLO you want to support ANYTHING that gets more players into the game. |
