66 in BB to interesting villain
Full tilt multitable SNG. about 25 left of 45. Villain has become aggressive in the last level, raising 4+BB's preflop and potting every flop. Hes probably done this in 4 out of 5 pots hes entered so far this level. My image is TAG.
Blinds 50-100 Villain (6000) raises UTG to 500. All folds to Hero in BB with 66. I have about 3200. Action? What would you do on the following flops? 1). A7d4d 2). JT9 3). KdTd2o 4). A Q 6 Table is tightening, and it seems like blind stealing will be available. This villian is on my immediate left though. |

Re: 66 in BB to interesting villain
fold pre I guess...pushing is an option but you didn't say if anyone played back at him yet...is the table passive or active...can you steal from those in front...hard to call when OOP and he has been pounding flops...
I push sometimes and fold most hypothetical flops don't mean much to me here cause like I said I push or fold here |

Re: 66 in BB to interesting villain
I don't want to play 66 OOP for a 5x raise against
an adjusting LAG. Shove or Fold, my default is fold. -ZEN |

Re: 66 in BB to interesting villain
I guess default is fold but with a more specific, i.e. he's raised x/y hands this level/2 levels it can definitely be a push.

Re: 66 in BB to interesting villain
Push with 30+ BB's seems like overkill. I folded, and felt fine about it. But here's what I started thinking about. Does it make any difference if its 77? 88?

Re: 66 in BB to interesting villain
no i don't think so. if you're folding 66 to him you obv have him on a range of 77+ AQ+ (wide range i know). Say you have 88 in this situation, 99-AA beats you, you beat 77, and AK and AQ are flips. That's -EV if you have him on the right range. You have to have at least TT+ AK+ I believe to make this call (given the range). Am I wrong here? Too tight? I'd like to know too...

Re: 66 in BB to interesting villain
His raising frequency 5 or so times in about a half level seems to indicate a far wider range. I would include most broadway, and I think hes the type that doesnt fold a ton of hands preflop once hes raised with them.

Dean Keaton - once a crooked cop, now an addict.
It's a multitable SNG...SNG...SNG...different from tournament. Blinds shoot up rapidly and you are basically playing preflop poker from hereonin. You are 30+BB deep, but that number is totally [censored] skewd. In less than 10 minutes, you'll be less than 20BB deep if you don't double up. Stack preservation until pushbotting starts is important. THERE ARE NO ANTES. Having said that, it's a reasonable question. I like to wait and push like a beast in a couple of levels. I lean toward a fold here because he's raising UTG. In an SNG. In a tournament, I push here. It's EARLY, and you are ahead of the chip average. In fact, given this is an SNG, you can wait until 100/200 before making any big moves and be fine. No need to take big risk here for 600 chips early. OH yeah, also he has 6K, right? So he's most likely chip leader. How did he quadruple his stack? Did you see? Might make a difference. But probably not. Barry |
