Default general 180 man playing strategy question

I have recently started playing large MTT's and 180per SNG's i have had a fair amount of success from 4$ buyins. I have a basic strategy question:
In these 180 man SNG's I usually like stiff raising or raising with a sizable bet on top with premium hands like AQ AK QQ and JJ, Because these players are quite horrible and call with draw hands. For example blinds are
10/20 raise to 200
15/30- 250or300
25-50- 250or300
50/100-400or 500
but i have recently encountered the players who will still call these large bets with hands like 78o and 56s and i will end up wiffing the flop only to pretty much have to make my continuation bet and realize im pretty much committed when he raises all in or puts a massive over bet. I would like your opinions as to what to do in these situations.

That is one of the reasons you shouldn't make such large preflop raises. You get a lot of money in without much of a way to get away from the hand when danger arises. Not to mention, when someone picks up a big hand reraises you, you are wither going to be committed into calling or you will fold and lose a good chunk of your stack.

Play small ball.

I think the best strategy is to not do this. Just raise a normal amount. Yes, sometimes you will lose a hand with AK when you get called by a few people and a 89T flop comes down, but it really doesn't matter. It's still +EV, and it keeps you out of these situations. And when you do happen to flop an A or K, you're still going to get called and stack people a ton.
