Default Re: KK river decision, I am confused

I'm interested in the suggestion to bet turn. I thought checking here was standard. We can't expect to get value from worse hands by betting, so are we doing it to protect our hand and avoid this kind of river scenario?

I was going to call a river bet of about the size I could have otherwise bet on the turn. My thinking was that on river I could pick off a (smaller) bluff or call a blocking bet from a weaker hand that would have folded to turn second barrel. Is this not going to happen often enough to justify turn check?
