Default Best way to check credit report

I'm starting to get serious about my credit and my future. Based on the number of credit related links/pop-ups/ads I see, I'm guessing there are quite a few scams and money-wasters out there. All I'd like to know is how to quickly, easily, and hopefully, cheaply, get access to my credit reports at the three major bureaus. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not getting when I tell you that this was the first result when I Googled "credit report"

p.s. I'm not just being a dick. I've used it before and got all the info I needed.

Yep. One free credit report from each of the three bureaus each year. You can get all three at once and get to see your total picture at once. I prefer to get one now, another in 4 months, and the third in another 4 months so I can keep a more continuous look at things.

Your credit score will cost a few bucks per bureau, but it's cheap enough (like $5 or $6) that I normally throw it in.

EDIT-P.S.-> Do not use freecreditreport.com They offer you your free credit report ONLY if you sign up to their monthly credit monitoring service....which costs $$$. You can get your credir reports for free by law. The additional cost you'll pay at annualcreditreport for your credit scores from all three bureaus is less than one month of freecreditreport's "service."

The only annoyance I've found with the free reports is they don't include the actual credit score, just a report.

Anyone know of a place that includes the FICO score for free as well?

I've used the Score Watch product from myfico.com. Be sure to cancel within the 30 day free trial so that you don't get charged.

You can call a credit counseling agency and they can do an assessment which may include your credit score. You may have to spend some time on the phone however.

By looking at your credit report you should have a good idea of what your score is.
