I was up 7k in blackjack on bodog, during my routine miracle run (have those about 2-3 times a year), than blew 13k back and asked them to block my access to the casino account. You can do it by calling and talking to casino manager, I advise you friend should do it now before he blows it all back plus more and than jumps off a bridge.

Nice graphs. I find the last one interesting...I certainly would expect the Martingale to be on the negative side (as well as ANY other betting "system" you could conceive of), I just find it surprising that it wouldn't end up at exactly the same place as flat betting. Given enough iterations, wouldn't any betting system end up in the exact same place as flat betting?

Your average bet is higher with martingdale.

I don't need gambling help, just stating that there is absolutely no way a casino online will make it beatable in long run. I still ended up winning close to 30k in the whole two week session. If I would of had gambling problem I would of blown it all

Ahhh, yes...of course. Let me try a different approach then. Using the exact same average bet, I would expect any system to end up in the exact same place....again, given enough iterations.

Applied to bonuses, I guess Martingale is slightly more +EV than flat betting simply because of increased bet size. Of course, one could just increase the amount of the flat bets instead.

Agreed on the casino not being beatable in the long run. It just sounded from your post like you were actually trying to win money at blackjack without clearing a bonus.

It isn't a true Martingale system, I'm not exactly sure what he does, but he said something like, "If I win more then 3 in a row, then I start doubling". I have no idea, but $60k sounded like an awful lot for the units he is using.

He does know perfect strategy(or close to), so I doubt he is giving away much there.

I mean, we all know that Martingale is inherently flawed, but my thoughts were that this was more than simple variance. If it is, I would love to ask him more about it. If not, I would urge him more strongly to withdraw, which I have already begun to do(although difficult for him to do with new legislation crap).

Thanks for the graphs, UA, that was exactly what I was looking for.

well, it looks like martingale is golden when you keep it to less than 1 iteration - once you get to 9000 hands KABLAMMO

Being up 600 units is unheard of as far as I know. I would double check all facts with your friend. It's quite likely that he either isn't up 60K or is trying to downplay his gamble and is betting much more than $100 average per hand.

It is probably equaly likely that he has found a timing tell in the software as him being up 600 bets (both extremely unlikely). Timing tells have existed in buggy software in the past, and if this was the case I sure as hell woulnd't be posting about it let alone telling even my best friend.

Why does the high n martingale round off at the end? Shouldn't the losing continue linearlly? Do they change the starting bet size as the bankroll goes down?
