This is Mrs. Irwin's decision. I will watch it if it's released though.

After reading your posts in this thread, I promptly went to YouTube to see if anyone had posted the video of Aristotle rolling over in his grave.

I started to read the whole thread, but then I realized that most of the voyeurs have probably never lost someone close to them.

Also, should executions be televised?

In his documentries he tried to capture the behaviors and actions of the animals he observed and the aftermath of these actions. His death was the result of animal defending itself. Under this premise and what I know of Mr. Irwin, I believe that he might want this released.

With that said though, I believe his wife should have the final say.

If it was the other way around and it was the stingray that got killed by Steve Irwin, nobody would care. You wouldn't see a headline of 'Stingray Steve Strikes Again' all over the newspapers.

[/ QUOTE ]

Correct. You would actually see a headline of "Steve Strikes a Stingray!" because Steve Irwin didn't kill animals on his show.

No, it isn't. It is Discovery Communications Inc.'s decision. They own the footage.

If you think that they are going to release it...you are mistaken.

Sure, it may be leaked someday, but I tend to seriously doubt that as well.

This image is 10 times better than what the real footage would be for entertainment purposes. I bet Irwin's reaction to this was no different from his reaction to getting bitten by any of the snakes he's been bitten by, which was publicly aired footage.

Altogether, I'd say that Irwin had a good death. He died doing what he loved, messing with dangerous animals, and he died at the end of the height of his popularity.
