Default Dietary Fiber

My friend gave me this tub of dietary fiber, and told me to put a scoop in a glass of water and drink it every morning before I go to work. It tastes terrible and gunks up at the bottom.

Please tell me that, as a relatively healthy 29 year old, taking this stuff would have very few benefits to my overall well-being.

Do you eat lots of fruits, vegatable and whole grains? If you do, I don't think you need that stuff. It is probably better to get your fiber from food.

Be carefull about upping your fiber intake very quickly. It can have some nasty effects on your digestive system. Its betst to do it slowly.

Fiber is very important for your health and most people do not get enough.

You dont need it, unless you have a medical condition and have been perscribed it.

Go eat some real food.

check out amy's organic lentil soup. it's great for lunch, and it has 18 grams of fiber. a bowl of most high-fiber/bran cereal will give you 5-10 grams.

you can google about the benefits.

My friend (31) had hemorrhoids and needs to take it every day as preventive measure. He said even after a year of doing it he hasn't gotten used to how foul tasting it is.

I don't think I can take the taste. It's foul. I definitely don't eat as many fruits and vegetables as I should. I will definitely try that lentil soup.
