5.50 just getting started
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (8 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
SB (t2920) BB (t880) UTG (t1340) UTG+1 (t1830) Hero (t1550) MP2 (t1910) CO (t1620) Button (t1450) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t20, Hero raises to t90, 3 folds, SB raises to t220, BB calls t200, UTG+1 folds, Hero... this is a call 100% of the time, right? Seems like I'm kind of turning JJ into 44 and playing for set value but I can't imagine pushing over two interested players and I'm not really thinking about folding. Then again, set value seems like the only way I'm extracting value. Thoughts? |

Re: 5.50 just getting started
At least a call. If read on SB that he re-raises light at a $5 I can see a shove here too. Flatting is safer/more prudent readless.

Re: 5.50 just getting started
I would just call. His reraise is repping a big hand. {better than yours) This increases your chance of doubling up if you flop a set. Obviously, he could have AK or be a donk, but it a good spot to play JJ.

Re: 5.50 just getting started
I shove this without reads to say otherwise, especially after the other player decides to call.

Re: 5.50 just getting started
Yeah, without reads, I shove this every day and twice on Sunday. At the $5 S&Gs, you're giving them way to much credit; they're not all that competent.

Re: 5.50 just getting started
i say call, altough i agree the $5.50 sngs are not the best quality, there a number of players who know what they're doing.
In these low stakes sngs if you push and the next guy calls the third guy usually does as well. Im guessing at least one of them has 2 over cards to your pair. |

Re: 5.50 just getting started
Flop came all-hearts, and all unders, but SB and BB got hot and heavy before I could say anything. SB flipped QQ and BB flipped AhJh.
I will have to think about the push to eliminate one player for dead money, but I think in this spot, at least one (if only one) has overcards or a better pair. (And a lot of the time, one is playing KTo or A8s - it's early yet.) |
