Your chance to bluff was the turn not the river.

i dont think this is terrible. he folds AK/AJ, maybe JJ, and underpairs. i think the bet size is good also.

you guys really think a turn bet is more believable than a river bet? can someone elaborate? i try to rep hands when i bluff rather than firing sporadically.

i bet 35$ to get all the draws to fold that beat my 7 high
but the Q really isn't a scarecard...

and after your cb on this drawheavy board at the turn villian will think that you eather have a bsuted draw a Q w/ a weak kicker or a twopair...

This is bad. You fold out AK and you are banking on a reasonable player betting AK into a flop that most reasonable players don't fire AK into. I'd be shocked if you weren't looked up.

It's not so much what you are repping that will get you to call (I think you did a good job repping AQ/KQ) it's the fact that this guy isn't gonna fold JJ,KK,AA because it's $1/2 and he'll immediately push your range to busted clubs moreso than a lone queen.

FWIW I think the turn is fine but I begrudingly check behind in this spot.

Guys,

21/18 opened UTG, and c-bet the flop.. And his range by the river is only pairs and AK? I don't mind this, but prefer a turn bet since our draw isn't too strong, and that turn is pretty scary for him.

For some reason people immediately treat a turn check as either your hand is really weak or you don't want to get raised off a draw so then on the river when the draw whifs they immediately, in their mind, surmise that you were drawing and taking a free one...which you were.

I'm with you that your line looks like a queen since I think you wouldn't bet with a queen a large % of the time against this type of player in this spot.

I'd much prefer this play actually if he led the river and we would bluff it over the top. We would think he'd never not bet the turn with a set. The tricky part is then recognizing if he had the queen himself if he led the river, obv.
