I usually fold in spots like this against a midstack.

However when I feel like gambling with a shorter stack tahn them, I usually call the bet and CRAI on any board with only 1 over card or less. I feel it helps get them committed to midpair hands and their overcards if they miss.

Edit: And obviously your not calling for setvalue here.

Meh, I think this is a fold. You can't play for set value and even if no overs fall you still won't know where you stand.

Well I'm not a big fan of folding TT pf either but he's telling you you're beat or flipping a coin at best. And this is a hand that's hard to play after the flop if an A/K/Q falls.
