Default Fear of Communism/Fear of Terrorism?

Has there been a discussion in this forum relating to the similarities between the "fear of communism" and "fear of terrorism". If so can someone please attach a link. This has been something I have thought about for sometime. There seems to be many parallels between what was happening then and what is happening now. Thank you!

As long as there is an outside enemy with an ideology that is clealry different than the ideology of the US isnt it inevitable that there will be lots of similarities as to how that enemy is portrayed?

I was more referring to the governments method of public coerrsion. Seems the build this panic and sell their own agendas to the public. But I agree, it is a tactic that will likely be recycled throughout history.
