First Post - How should QQ be played with flop of AA6?
First round at table. No stats on opponents in pt. Wonder whether re-raise at flop would have been better. Was obviously concerned with two overcards and thought possibility good of being up against Ax noting call of pre-flop raise of 5X BB.
Have lots to learn still but am having fun! Thanks, All... Re: First Post - How should QQ be played with flop of AA6?
This looks okay. A flop raise might be okay since MP2 bet so small, but there really aren't that many hands you beat that are calling a raise, so I like the call.
If it were checked to us on the flop definitely bet. |

Thanks. I probably would have felt better about my play if villain hadn't shown 7/7.

Pre flop is fine, turn is a good fold i think. Agreed with Claunchy about the flop, i dont like a call here. Either a fold or a raise IMO, calling doesnt seem to help your hand here.

Wilkall - in both this and your other post you seem very results orientated, it's about the lines you take against the villains possible range, not what he has this particular time.

JK1986 - think you're right. Since I'm just starting out I guess I'm having difficulty knowing whether the "lines" I'm developing will be good long-term habits. During the learning process, it seems the end results often leave me perplexed as to whether or not I'm on the right track. Your point is well-taken though, so thank you for the reminder of the big picture. I'm finding these forums great for a newbie like myself!

Re: First Post - How should QQ be played with flop of AA6?
I'd play it the same way. Fold to a real flop bet though. I don't mind call, re evaluate turn here because he could just have some flush draw. Yeah I hate when they show 77 here too, but most of the time they have an ace. It's hard not to be results oriented, but you have to be. Plays like this are what keep the fish coming back for more. The guy w/ 77 thinks he just made a great play. Let him make the same play when you have AK.

Re: First Post - How should QQ be played with flop of AA6?
i agree w/ above , big deal, its 1 laydown, at the cash tables laydowns at the rite time is +ev , if u dont make them u lose over time, i like the call on the flop for the next card, i think i wouldve played it the same , but i love when a player shows me that 77 thinking he made a gr8 move, that just feeds his greed more and i know i will trap and stack him down the road.....lol
