Default KQs 4way in the bb .5/1 6max

I've only been at the table for about 3 orbits. I've only been involved in a couple of hands and have not seen a showdown yet.

Everyone at the table seems reasonble so far except for utg and he doesn't play this hand.

And sorry for the noob preflop question but i feel pretty noob.

raise for value
checking isn't awful but raising is more +ev in the long run

I raise here. We likely won't lose anybody preflop and this hand makes the nuts several ways post flop. A raise will help us build a pot when that happens. If we miss the flop we can try a c-bet or a check raise to try to buy it. Or if we miss on an A flop with no diamonds we can check fold it pretty easily.

My original read was worded badly. I haven't been to showdown yet, but I have seen a few showdowns and for the most part they were straightfoward hands.

SB checks, Hero ??

What now? Is betting into 3 seemingly decent dudes correct here? Do you bet/fold or check/fold either way? If one or more call do you give up barring spiking a K or a Q ?

I've been spewing chips alot lately (lately including the last year) and I would like to stop.

i bet almost always in situations like this. check/fold is horrible, wow. we have overs and a gutshot in a pot we raised for value.

IMHO We have to bet. They probably won't all fold though since a c bet is probably expected. Not to mention we may be behind. If we check though I think we have to call one with 2 over cards a 4 outs to the top straight.

So I think we bet/call. Planning to check/fold the turn if a heart or an Ace appears. Planning to bet/3 bet if a non heart jack hits. Planning to bet/call a non heart Q or K. Planning to check/call one if a heart Q or K appears.

(Frankly I'm interested to see what others think here because the nit in me would like to just dump this here but I don't think we can in this pot with our gut shot draw.)

Q or K completes draws. We'd have to c/c for 1 back to us, c/f if its 2 cold. At best we'd chop if we hit our straight now.

You really put people specifically on J8 or QJ?

Bet this flop.

Remember, just because you didn't spike a pair doesn't mean you might not have the best hand. It's 5 handed.

this hand is virtually identical to aaron's AT on a QJJ board. never is everyone folding because this board hits our opponents' limping ranges so hard. we are OOP, so there is no potential free card benefit. let's check and see what happens.

(this also means it's time for me to quit cbetting so damn much. plugging leaks!)
