Default Studio 60 Episode 3

Alright, now that they've shown more of the bald writer guy ( the same guy from West Wing ) I'm really sick of him ... he plays the same douche he did on WW, and plays it in the exact same manner ... I can't stand the way he says "pissed" ... Amanda Peet makes my pants tight.

This episode was rather mediocre IMO. As it develops, I'm weary of them thinking WAY too highly of the social importance of a sketch comedy.

Lippy - Yeah that was my sense from the first couple episodes and struck me as a potential pitfall for the series arc. Unsurprisingly, people who produce and write for network TV have a rather high opinion of the work they do (zomg millions of people are watching our shows!!!), and are sometimes out of touch with reality. Haven't watched this episode yet, going in with lowered expectations.

I wanna be on top of her, also.

I loved this episode.

Peets character is growing on me as well.

4High - She was, outside of Paulson, the most maligned casting choice in previous Studio 60 threads. I think she is pitch perfect for this role, and really like her (as well as wanting to be on top of her).

Agreed. But I still wonder about the Amanda Peet character.

How long can the president of a network concern herself with a late night SNL-type program? Doesn't she have to worry about her primetime schedule at some point?

From what they have said in previous episodes, Studio 60 is the "flagship" show of NBS.

I'm really liking this show so far; it has a Sports-Night-ish vibe that really appeals to me.

My problem with the show (aside from what lippy said, which is also true) is that the skits really aren't very funny, and that makes everything seem fake.
