Exactly, they had injuries and everyone figured they could just plug people in and be fine, but for a while they looked terrible. Losing your best 2 recievers is going to have an impact whether you like it or not (although I dont think Branch or Givens are that good.) Just look at Carolina, Steve Smith getting all the attention and everyone else was STILL useless. As it is I think their running game will be improved and they will probably be fine, but my statement was more of a general thing and not just with Branch, as eventually I think the lack of loyalty to anyone will come back to haunt them.

I don't think anybody thought that they could lose their whole defensive backfield, RB's, half the Oline, LB's, etc, and be fine with the 2nd stringers.

The Pats never planned to trade Branch they were just going thru the motions on the off chance some idiot would splurge for him.

Branch isn't even worth a top 10 1st round pick...let alone two of them.

Given that the Hawks would have been trading a high 20s maybe 30s pick, I would do it. The Jets umm... won't be trading a pick that low, bad idea on their part.
