Turning Trips into a Bluff Catcher
i've been running super super hot on 2 tables, and taggish villain is at both. i just won a big pot against him on the other table, and this occurs less than a minute later.
stakes are 10/20 iirc. villain is in HJ HJ raises, 2 folds, I 3-bet AK in SB, BB folds, HJ calls. KJ9 two hearts hero bets, HJ calls turn K, still 2 hearts hero bets, HJ raises, hero calls what is villain's range? few possibilities in my head (partly based on card distributions): 1) frustrated raise with pure air (15%) 2) boat w/ JJ or 99 (30%) 3) worse king (10%) 4) QT (35%) 5) semibluff with Ah xh (5%) 6) free showdown with QQ or TT (5%) thoughts on meek turn play please. my plan was to c/r all rivers (including hearts) but Q or T, and call a 3-bet. river posted later |

Re: Turning Trips into a Bluff Catcher
I think 3-betting the turn is the play. You don't want him taking a free showdown, and if you c/r the river and he 3 bets, you puke. If you 3 bet and he caps the turn, its and easy call down.
I think this is gonna be a semi-bluff the majority of the time; probably AJ, QJ, JT or even AhTh. Charge the draws and figure out where you are at; 3 bet |

Re: Turning Trips into a Bluff Catcher
I think you're giving too much weight towards monsters, and not enough towards worse made hands. I think Kx could easily play like this alot more than 10%, and a good player will usually fastplay a monster on the flop.
