50nl - Nittish Villian takes an odd line
I guess he is more just your average donk than nit.
No reads other than PT. Villian is 30.4/4.2/2.11 I dont 3bet because his PFR is so low and I want to keep the pot small. His check behind on the flop made me a little suspicious of JJ. So I was thinking JJ/AK/AQ were his range. What do you think about the river? Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) Hero (SB): $60.95 BB: $27.40 UTG: $50.00 MP: $15.30 CO: $51.40 BTN: $62.05 Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) 3 folds, BTN raises to $2.00, Hero calls $1.75, BB folds Flop: ($4.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN checks Turn: ($4.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $2.50, BTN calls $2.50 River: ($9.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $5.50, BTN raises to $21.00, hero???? Re: 50nl - Nittish Villian takes an odd line
My spidey sense is tingling.
When a relatively aggressive opponent checks behind on a flop that is perfect for a cbet, I start to worry. Given his tight preflop range, and the board by the river there is not much you beat that would play like this. So fold river. I guess an argument can be made for check-calling river, but it is hard to comment on this hand without being influenced by results. |

Re: 50nl - Nittish Villian takes an odd line
Well I threw out that $2.5 bet expecting a reraise from an ace, and maybe a call from a crappy PP/checked behind QQ/KK. Even though that really wasn't in his range in my opinion. After he called I was really just lost. I thought I was value betting river.

Re: 50nl - Nittish Villian takes an odd line
Villian has an average AF. HOWEVER, I expect when someone with a 4.2 prf raises preflop and they have an average AF to bet the flop in position 95% of the time. He likes his hand PF, and he obviously doens't like many enough to raise. It is a decent spot to Cbet, especially against a call from a SB.
I did fold. But at the time it was a tough one. The more I think about it, the more it seems like a best case scenario would have been a split |

How reliable are your stats, i.e. how many hands did you have on him?
