[ QUOTE ]
To invoke the rule is to imply cheating.

I react kind of funny when accused of being a cheater.

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course if you have any clue whatsoever, you realize, if you've been in a cardroom for any decent length of time, that this isn't what they're implying at all. It's what you're projecting on them that that's their intention.

Why not look at the actual reasons behind their actions before making claims on their actual intent. You might find it's as far from accusing you of anything that it can be.

...plus, it slows down the stinking game.

When a donk asks, it's not to imply cheating, but to see your cards. If you think they are implying you are cheating you are giving them too much credit. Lighten up francis.

It's completely within the rules to ask to see the cards. I don't understand why anyone would take it personally. It's as stupid as getting pissed because someone check raised or bluffed you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not even close to being the same thing. I personally don't care if someone asks me to see my cards. But when the table fish makes a bad call, loses all of his money, and then some douchebag who isn't in the hand makes him show his 2nd pair 3 kicker and therefore embarrasses him in front of everyone when he's just trying to have a good time, I get really [censored] pissed off. If the guy stays and doesn't have a problem with it, I'll keep my mouth shut. If he leaves with an embarrassed look on his face, the second he is gone I will give the douchebag the berating he deserves.

At Foxwoods the IWTSTH rule has been abused so much that the dealers have taken the lead in dealing with the fallout.

If the person who is asked to show his hand objects, the dealer instructs the player asking to see, that this is the last time he will be allowed to do it. Unless he is actually suspicious of collusion. The Floor if called over, will say the same thing.

I am trying to start a grass roots campaign to change the way IWTSTH is implemented at FW. I have spoken to several Floor to ask them their opinion (the rule is universally hated so far) and have suggested to them that they bring up an alternative to their supervisors. The way I would like to see the rule handled is: when a player wants to invoke IWTSTH the dealer then should ask if that player suspects collusion. Only if the answer is yes, would the cards be turned over.

Note that FW is also attemting to disallow "HU checking hands down". Which should eliminate a legitamite use of IWTSTH.

I invite other FW regulars to let the Floor there know how ridiculous the current implementation of IWTSTH is - and to support the alternative mentioned above or simply ban it outright.

Seems easy enough. Email or talk to your local card-room boss.

Sorry, what?

I'm assuming you mean explicitly talking about checking it down, which will really do not very much.

Yes, that is what I was talking about. They have always disallowed explicit HU check downs in tournament play and are now going to apply it to cash games as well.

I agree with you that the policy doesn't change things too much.

However, this is one of the few times that I think IWTSTH is legitamite. When two people have raised and gotten it HU and then explicitly check it down, I want to see both hands to see if there was any mischief, conscious or not.
