145 on 95s in CT somewhere between exits 90 and 80. (was 19 at the time) 1993 RX-7. I shut it down after not realizing how fast I was going. It would have been a smooth ride had the wind not nudged the 2700 lb. car 1-2 feet laterally. I wisened up to the fact that you could really eff yourself up(re: die in a gasoline fire, or collision with pole, car, animal, etc).
Sold the rx-7 about 4 years ago to another kid/young guy from Long Island that totalled his rx-7 in the rain.
Now my wrx barely sees 85.

Edit: this was in the wee hours of the morning and looking back on this, it was really stupid.

I don't think it's this high, cars are so survivable these days. You can get into some really nasty wrecks and just walk away.

Got my '91 4-cylinder Jetta up to ~107 or so. Just did it once.

If everyone was wearing their seatbelt you might be right, but I'm assuming 100% of people not wearing their seatbelt die at 100+ with a blowout. Obviously, it would be dumb to go top speed and not be buckled in, but you know there have to be some people who do it..
