Clearly, Torre was not so worried about clinching last night given the selection of relief pitchers that were brought into the game. I criticized a single comment you made showing a hypersensitivity to Michael Kay's blabbering idiocy. I just can't see how it is "arrogant" to state with near certainty that the Yankees would be in the playoffs when the magic number is 1 and there are six games left to play... OH -- and Yankee haters don't hate the Yankees for their arrogance, they hate the Yankees for their success (and the way they perceive them reaching that success). A little swagger (or arrogance) is like twisting the knife - and if it makes the haters more delirious, all the better. On Kay: I am not a fan, but he is nowhere near the most annoying Yankee broadcaster (see, e.g., Sterling and Waldman). Anyway, the Yankees are in the playoffs now and hopefully moving towards #27.
