Default Greatest Album of Any One Year

I'm hoping to pool OOT's considerable combined music knowledge to eventually determine the all-time greatest album of each year, across all categories.

Who knows, maybe we'll turn it into some sort of poll eventually but for now I'm gonna test the waters and see if there's any interest.

Here are a few suggestions of all-time great albums from various years. Feel free to agree, disagree or nominate albums from different years. The only rule is that greatest hits albums don't count.

1965 - The Beatles, Rubber Soul
1982 - Michael Jackson, Thriller
1992 - Dr. Dre, The Chronic
1994 - Soundgarden, Superunknown

1986 - Paul Simon, Graceland
1975 - Bob Dylan, Blood on the Tracks
1969 - Frank Zappa, Hot Rats (I know it was a hot year in music, but this album is nearly perfect imo)

Are you seriously saying that Zappa is better than LZ 2?

LZ3 is no slouch but there's some other notable contenders from 1970:

Derek and the Dominoes- Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs
David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
