Metroid.

runners-up include Mike Tyson's Punch Out, The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior III-IV, Bionic Commando , Faxanadu, Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3, Tecmo Super Bowl, River City Ransom, and many others.

I feel very strongly about this, all things considered.

I was wondering when this was gonna show up. Took WAY too much time, really dissapointed in ya'll.

I read they're making a new one for the PS3/360 can't wait to see how badly it's gonna suck.

Edited to add: Goonies II was wicked and I also really liked Gunsmoke. Double Dragon II kicked some serious ass, there's just too many great games that came out on that console.

Anyone ever play Caveman Games? Clearly not up there with the games metioned so far, but still provided me with hours of entertainment.

Wife Toss FTW!

Never had an NES or SNES but Bubble Bobble, NBA Jam, Dr. Mario and the Super Mario series were my favorites to play at friends' houses. For Game Boy I really liked Batman, Baseball (forget the exact name of the game) and, of course, Tetris.

How come no one has posted Gauntlet yet? Preferably with the multi tap. Not that it was my favorite, but a great game none the less.

My favorite is probably Basewars since I played that one the most, however there were way too many cheap moves in the fights. Tecmo Bowl was also awesome and Blades of Steel. Penalty for losing a fight, awesome.
