Re: who does tOSU play in the title game?
according to the math here, it's Ohio State and LSU as the two leaders
Of course, Ohio State is the only team that outperformed what one would expect from a #2 team. Every other team underperformed. +/- compared to a #2 Ohio State +0.212W 0.899p LSU -0.259W 0.866p USC -0.263W 0.855p Georgia -0.288W 0.857p V Tech -0.577W 0.891p Oklahoma -0.628W 0.895p that looks at only wins and losses directly of course, I'd think margin of victory favors Ohio St and LSU even more |

I guess I was wrong about Va. Tech. I really thought they'd be higher than that. |

Also, I think both USC and OU should be given a little extra credit for the fact that debilitating injuries contributed largely to their bad games. If I didn't factor in injuries or MOV at all, then I would also have LSU #2. |

Re: who does tOSU play in the title game?
ummmm.... do you not count Dorsey being ineffective ever since the Auburn cheapshot as a big injury for LSU?

Re: who does tOSU play in the title game?
It's a different situation. USC and OU had injuries in the middle part of the season that caused them to perform unusually bad, but then they recovered and proved themselves in big games afterward. LSU hasn't shown this supposed dominant team that would show up at 100% since September.
Also, I don't expect Dorsey to be much better by January 7th. Bradford and Booty (and the rest of the USC offense that went down) are pretty much 100% healthy and as a result USC and OU are different teams than the ones that lost earlier in the year. With LSU, we're basically getting the gimpy version that lost to Arkansas. Fair or not, I think that makes Oklahoma and USC better teams than LSU at the moment. |

Re: who does tOSU play in the title game?
USC has only beaten two teams that finished the season with winning records.
Two 2 |
