$35 looks good PF. Flop looks standard.

Re: Stupid AK
if i'm calling a shove i'd rather open shove flop, but if i think he's shoving, i'm checking.
considering his stats and your impression, he's probably shoving a lot so i'm checking and folding a lot. if he bets something gay i'll call the flop unless he's the type that always follows his gay bets with big bets then i'll just give it to him unless i believe there's a good chance he's 1. calling my pf raise light and 2. betting a large percentage of the time when i check to him in this spot, cause he's a bad lagtard and bets at 'weakness'. in that case check shove isn't that bad because it's for value. |

Re: Stupid AK
Would anyone advocate a pre-flop call instead of a raise?
We're out of position and the villain has been playing crazy as you said - and probably won't fold pre-flop anyway. I understand that AK is ahead of a lot of his range but it's not a made hand either. I'm sure people will say this is a pretty weak move, and they may be right. I just want to hear some feedback on why or why not this would be an acceptable strategy. |

do you just c/f flop then? [/ QUOTE ] Once in a great while maybe but generally I'll just type in 103.40. I'd do this with just about anything that I repopped this guy with though. I mean, as you found, you're committed with any hand you bet the flop with so why not just shove here? |

Would anyone advocate a pre-flop call instead of a raise? [/ QUOTE ] absolutely not, your out of position, not looking too likely to improve your hand on the turn and you've shown great weakness by just calling, when he shoves the turn your in dead water |

Re: Stupid AK
even if he checks the turn, he may be looking for us to put a bet in so he cal repop us again, WORST move would be to call

I'm talking about cold-calling his PRE-FLOP bet. It keeps the pot smaller since we're OOP and only have A high. If an A or K flops, it seems like this would be the type of villain who would hang himself if given a little rope. |

[/ QUOTE ] our A hi is the best A hi though so put as much money in as possible preflop. i just shove this flop vs his stack w/ my entire 3-bet range here usually. |
